#MeetingGlass – a thousand years in three days

#meetinglass

a thousand years in three days

The Consorzio Promovetro is committed to valorising the image of Murano artistic glass to preserve this age-old art.
At the same time, it also promotes this important cultural heritage throughout the world, partly by managing the Vetro Artistico® Murano trademark (Regional Law no. 70 of 23.12.1994) at international level.

Precisely with a view to promoting the history, culture and different techniques for working this fascinating material, but also to find new creative and design stimuli at international level, from 13 to 16 March 2018, the Consorzio Promovetro is organising #Meetinglass, an international workshop dedicated to the Architecture, Contract and Interior Design sector.

A workshop reserved for just six architects and interior designers, invited to spend three days packed with seminars held by professionals and sector experts, meetings and direct experiences in companies in the Murano artistic glass district. Participants will be selected from among the top European architectural and design studios on the basis of their professional experiences.

Three days of full immersion in the culture of Murano artistic glass to find out about the island’s glass production.

An idea born to consolidate relations with the world of creative design and open up new horizons of collaboration, but above all to make the culture of Murano glass known and promote knowledge of its versatility as a material.

Participants will be offered reimbursement of expenses up to €300 for the journey to Venice and 3 nights in the prestigious Hotel La Gare in Murano. They will also be our guests for lunch in two of the island’s characteristic restaurants during the two days working together.

Those wanting to arrive early or remain after the event, and/or add one or more accompanying persons at their own expense, should make arrangements directly with the Hotel La Gare.

The workshop and meetings will be held in English.
