The winner of the international contest “Un Goto per Venezia” has been announced by the jury during their meeting held on September 29th at Palazzo Mocenigo.

Un Giorno in Laguna” the project by Laura Sattin, has been proclaimed as the most original idea, to celebrate the late Marie Brandolini, and her works and research to create new and innovative drinking glasses.

This the motivation given at unanimity by whole jury “on one hand because of the pertinence with Murano glass and the tradition it represents, on the other because of the poetic inspiration reckoning a heavenly image of the lagoon, enlightened by a sun made of pure gold leaf . The winning got has been realised by glass master Roberto Finotto, of the company Seguso Gianni

The jury was composed by Rosa BAROVIER MENTASTI – glass historian, Marcantonio BRANDOLINI, successor of his mother’s activity, Marie-Christine JAMET, director of Alliance française in Venice, Massimo MICHELUZZI, Murano Glass expert, Carlo MONTANARO, vice – president of Alliance française, Giordana NACCARI, Murano glass expert and business woman, Chiara SQUARCINA, director of the Murano Glass Museum, Luciano GAMBARO, President of Consorzio Promovetro Murano and Gianni VIANELLO VINCI, designer.

They all also appreciated the very high quality of the remaining projects and also the young age of the participants who wanted to test themselves with an ancient but always new art.
