Saturday, November 19, at 18.30 at Palazzo Mocenigo (Santa Croce 1992) the awards ceremony for the winner of the second edition of the international contest “A goto to Venice” will be held.

The competition was organized by the Fondazione Musei civici di Venezia (Civic Museums Foundation of Venice), the Alliance française of Venice, by Brandolini and Rosenberg families and by Consorzio Promovetro, managing authority for the Vetro Artistico® Murano, in memory of Marie de la Anglivel Beaumelle Brandolini, who for many years was president of the Alliance française of Venice and passionate lover and connoisseur of the Murano art.

Ten are the young finalists of this second edition, designers between 18 and 30 years, selected by an international jury. Their projects have been realized by the Consortium Promovetro’s Murano Glass Masters.
The winner will receive a scholarship of € 2,500.

The awards also provide an opportunity to define the guidelines for the third edition of the competition, which after the first two ones successfully organized, will be more international, in order to convey the proper attention that the island of Murano deserves, not only to safeguard the tradition, but also to revive production.

The prototypes of the projects winners will be auctioned off at a charity dinner. Proceeds will go to AIRC, Italian Association for Cancer Research, to increase research into the disease that struck Marie Anglivel de la Beaumelle Brandolini.
