Murano’s glass furnaces are all dressed up to receive and greet the most beautiful and the most colourful costumes of Venice Carnival 2013. The winning costumes of “Live in Colour” Carnival have been invited by Consorzio Promovetro in Murano glass furnaces, to see and admire the magic of our precious glass making, which made Murano famous in the whole world.

Promovetro, managing authority for Vetro Artistico® Murano trademark, was official partner of the event, and offered to the winners two precious gifts: a glass replica of the typical Venetian mask – la Bauta -, in green glass and silver and 24 Kt gold leaf, and a wonderful blown glass plate with colourful inserts, to represent the magic and spirit of Venice carnival.

The “Bauta” was give to the most colourful mask, “Luna Park”, a four people family from Jesi, while the glass plate was the given to the most beautiful mask “Alla Ricerca del Tempo Perduto”, created by Anna Marconi from Senigallia.

While wearing their beautiful costumes, they had the possibility to watch the glass master creating an Arlecchino in Murano glass; they could also try to blow some glass.

The companies bearer of the Vetro Artistico® Murano trademark also created 22 Murano Glass lion heads (the symbol of Venice) “osellas”, given to the best costumes of the day.

All gifts are characterised by the Vetro Artistico® Murano, the only legally recognised trademark that gives to the customer the origin of a product realised in Murano, with a one-thousand years old tradition.

Mr. Gambaro: we are glad to have such beautiful and colourful costumes in our furnaces today, and we are sure they appreciated the gifts we made for them. They had the opportunity to see through their eyes the artistic glass working tradition of Murano. They are now going to be Murano glass ambassadors in the world for the fight against counterfeiting and low quality products sold as if they were original ones.
