Marina Molin Pradel is the winner of the first Cà Foscari Alumnus of the Year Award 2012.
On the last 13th October, the award, characterised by the trademark Vetro Artistico® Murano, has been given by Andrea Tomat, president of Confindustria Veneto and of the Association of Cà Foscari University Graduated Students, and it has been realised with the help of Consorzio Promovetro Murano to the scholar, during the ceremony, held by the Dean, prof. Carlo Carraro.
Marina Molin Pradel is a philologist and archivist, received the award with a clamorous discovery: 29 ancient homilies by Origene. She won the award over Pietro del Soldà (philosopher and journalist on TG3) and Francesca Trivellato (History professor at Yale – USA).
One of the most important aim of the association is valorise young professionalism, according to this the award was conceived by a young venetian artist, Stefano Bullo, from the Accademia delle Belle Arti.
The final project, a upside-down “T” engraved and with 24 kt gold leaf, has been realised by Consorzio Promovetro Murano, by the glass master Nicola Moretti.
A Cà Foscari lifetime achievement award has been given to Paolo Costa.
