Murano glass is on the front line for the protection of glass producers and glass consumers, and against counterfeit products.

In these days, at the beginning of summer season, when Veneto beaches are crowded with tourists, Promovetro is working together to the main consumers’ associations to defend local craftsmanship.

This is the reason why Promovetro, Adiconsum Veneto and Federconsumatori Veneto, have signed an agreement for some informative and communication actions towards tourists, to promote and value the Vetro Artistico® Murano trademark, the only legally recognised trademark for original Murano Glass products.

The agreement has been signed during the presentation of the project “Sportelli Regionali” which will distribute in 26 squares of Veneto a multilingual guide, about the Vetro Artistico® Murano trademark.

The agreement will also promote the initiative through web sites and social networks.

During the press conference were present Franco Manzato, from Regione del Veneto, Valter Rigobon from Adiconsum, Ermes Coletto from Federconsumatori Veneto and Antonio Tognoni from Unione Nazionale Consumatori.

“This agreement is fundamental to us”, says Luciano Gambaro, President of Consorzio Promovetro, “as it give us the opportunity to reinforce our relationship with consumers, through the promotion of Promovetro’s initiatives, for original Murano Glass, and against counterfeit products”.

“The touristic season is now at his peak and we hope that consumers’ associations can help us in our daily fight against cheap products, sold in shops. Our main aim is to let the tourist know what they are buying, because only through the use of Vetro Artistico® Murano trademark, the only legally recognised trademark, can you be sure that you are buying an original Murano glass product.
